In less than 4 hours the opening party of all openings will start. You’ll have to be one of the lucky few who were invited but Nike Sportswear has gone all out to open up their very first flagship door by taking up the entire block and setting up what looks to be a mini-stadium.
For those that can’t make it, check out the live webcast happening on 3 channels.
10 Deep is keeping things moving, literally. Here’s a vid of their skateboard team ripping it up at the historic World’s Fair and other sites around NYC. Featuring Jamal Smith, Tony Montgomery, Daniel Kim, John Igei, and German Nieves.
Here comes an interesting project by 5 & A Dime from San Diego. Having recently moved shop, they kept their old location and will use it from now on for other purposes. Brands are invited to use the space as a pop-up store and it will also be used as a gallery space.
In4mation is the first to take the opportunity and will have a pop-up store in San Diego from March 8th until April 5th. Opening reception will be held on March 8th from 12 noon – 7pm by the works of New York City based photographer Angela Boatwright and her Sorcerers show. A collection of metal related photos that has been taken all over the globe from Texas to Tokyo and also being featured in various magazines such as Dazed and Confused.
The weather is CRAZY! Its storming out this way. So if you’re planning on going out or headed to the store, drive safe! Its raining and mega windy! Umbrellas are going inside out and stuff. Careful. Just a heads up from your friendly Fatlace Crew.
A family in Tampa FL claims that their talking Elmo doll allegedly made death threats to their 2 year old. Too bad they didn’t record it. Seems a little fishy to me. Happy Friday everyone!
I heard about http://ursession.com while listening to the Wake Up Show, from King Tech. It’s an online community of artists who upload their music to get votes. You can sign on as an artist or a fan. It’s a cool way to be seen and heard without going to record labels and possibly getting denied because you don’t have a certain “look.” If you’re good, people will notice and maybe even some industry heads.
This isn’t on the site yet, but there will be a $100,000 beat contest. They’ll be giving away $100,000 worth of beats and people can rap (or sing) over the tracks, then upload for voting. I gotta see how this turns out, beats will be supplied by some of the world’s dopest producers and I know there’s mad talent out there.
It’s still a new site, so you can probably grab your name pretty easily. My link is http://ursession.com/reign
