The day started early. Had to save some picnic spots for the Hellaflush BBQ Meat. Felix was at Miami holding it down for the Hellaflush squad. I had a chance to drive his classic Skyline (AKA Kenmeri) while following Mark in his beauty.
Driving RHD feels like riding switch stance on a board, you know what you need to do, but it feels awkward. It’s a little easier in the states than in Japan since we don’t need to worry about shooting into the wrong lane at the intersections. I did find myself drifting to the left sometimes, oops! Gotta think “right” the whole time. The stick took some getting used to though. It doesn’t really spring in to the middle like modern cars, so you need to guide it to the gears when shifting. Left hand shifting is tough! This car is luxury, power windows, locks and trunk. My old 240 has none of that. The ergonomics was perfect for my height, everything was in reach and felt natural.
It was easy to get used to driving that thing. Very comfortable. It was pretty funny watching people’s reactions when they saw Mark driving on the right side. One lady almost fell down while jogging, haha. I need one of these cars in my life!
