Now, I’m never one to be a fan of a band just because A) one of the members is Shannyn Sossamon’s sister, B) its an all female band, or C) because this is a lady powered site, but in all honesty, I’m really diggin Warpaint.
I had the chance to meet and interview this band for the Keds’ blog for the Whitney Museum’s summer Whitney Live sessions and also got to watch them perform live.
Their music was not at all what I expected a female band to be (usually full of womanly rage or emo acoustics). Nope, this band has it all, Stella – a sick ass drummer (a new addition), Jenny Lee – a gorgeous and vivacious bassist, and two kick ass guitarists Emily and Theresa – all providing vocals.
Give them a try, I think you’ll find them appealing to watch and listen to…
