Looks like the knock off version of the carbon vapor.

    • 06/12/2010 at 9:19 am

The vapor case is a completely different design although it is quite sexy. We did not develop this case, we’ve just partnered with a local company who made it. Also one thing to note.. the carbon back isn’t part of the case. Only the casing itself.

I’ve heard reviews on aluminum cases for the iPhone4 can make the “problematic” reception worse than before. While I love the design of this case and am lusting for one right now, especially an illest version, I’d rather have reception. Have you noticed any problems with reception while using the case so far?

    • 06/12/2010 at 9:53 am

Its exactly why we’re testing it out. There is a spacer between the phone that is made out of abs plastic so it doesnt give you reception problems but definitely want to make sure its the right fit before producing these.

Thanks for looking into that existing problem and hoping that it all works out.

If you could use another tester in a different area let me know cause I’d be stoked to help out!

I have the Vapor 4 case and that thing destroys my reception. I loose at least 1 bar on both Cell signal and wifi. If this case doesn’t do that I’ll ditch my Vapor for this one. I love the aluminum style and feel.

Do a case for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S (The captivate)!

This is super nice though. Makes me want to go back to an iPhone 4.

I have the vapor too and yes it kills my reception.. .a lot! feels great, provides great protection but not worth the loss of reception. I am thinking this will be the same thing. I like the design of this one, but I would rather have the screws showing on the back of the phone rather than the front. Also, the carbon fiber backing should be an added option. And more colors.

    • 06/12/2010 at 3:44 pm

Tons of colors but we want our own. Definitely thinking the same on the screws for the back. This is still in sample mode and we’ve found somethings that need improvement. Thanks for your feedback.

couple other suggestions if you have the capacity to make any changes to the case before dropping a final version, that is if the manufacture is open to suggestions…

      – make the syncing/power port large enough to accept a few different versions of connectors rather than just cable coming with the iPhone.

      – make the headphone port large enough to accept a varying versions of headphones jacks, not necessarily restricted to the slim headphone jacks.

      – and i agree, have the screws in the back rather than front it possible

Can’t wait for them to come out!

I want an iPhone 4 just for this case

  21. 07/12/2010 at 4:42 pm

I’ll be all over this if the headphone jack hole is nice and large to accept headphones other than slim apple type :)
