Model – Katheryn Rice, the best friend of a very special person to me, who is now a friend of mine, called me sometime in 2009 asking for some help with a dress line idea she had. Knowing the pains of a clothing line, I said I would help her – but warned her of the troubles ahead. Now in 2011 Katheryn’s line CARMELLA COUTURE is launched and gorgeous and we are meeting on where to exclusively place it.
It’s at her orange custom made desk that Katheryn designs the concepts for her CARMELLA line (I don’t know who Carmella is).
For those of you who don’t know the process, sketches are where it begins after the light bulb goes off in a creative head. These sketches were then turned into the current line sheet (in photoshop) by the amazing Miranda Traczyk.
These dresses are ONLY for those who don’t eat sugar and flour!
They are also ONLY for those who have a great job, a husband with a great job, or a trust fund. Katheryn, herself, is the target market.
Voila! – The dresses looks amazing, but trust me – this was a painstaking process.
We look at the dresses to make groups that will inspires the buyers.
Every dress needs a great pair of shoes – with a red bag!
The dog in the office makes it all come together. Puppy love and hard work make magic. I am glad I had my toes done.

I would say you saw it here first, but Town and Country already featured her designs worn by her 16 bridesmaids at her destination wedding in Mexico and Robin Wright wore a custom piece this year to the SAG awards. Katheryn makes it look effortless, but some people are just dealt a better hand.
