Came across this site today and one thing popped in my head. Social networking with music.

Simply put, that is what turntable.fm provides.While it is still in its beta phase, you can try to get an invite by adding your e-mail to their invite list, or if you have a friend on Facebook who currently uses turntable.fm you can just log in using your Facebook.

Upon logging in, you have two options, create your own room or join an existing room. The rooms are categorized by genre. Once in a room you can join the queue to DJ and play some of your favorite tunes via your music library or Turntable’s music library. If you aren’t up for playing some tunes you can just kick back and like or dislike what is being played, with the “Lame or Awesome” meter. In addition to that, you can become a “fan” of the current DJs playing music.

Imagine a virtual party. It’s a chat room, with avatars, and people playing music. This may just be the future of music. Check it out at:
