Not dropping til January, this is THEE camera to get. It’s not super fancy like other ones on the market but its got my vote for best camera of the year next year. The Hermes X Leica joint is great but that’s gonna cost you 12k just for the body! This LX1 is 2k and works great with its fixed lens.

If you’ve never been to Chicago, just know the seasons are more jacked up than the roads we drive on. It seems Chicago just said the hell with fall and went straight to winter this year for awhile, so before I put the M3 away for the season, I took it out for a quick photoshoot. Found a nice little spot in the ‘burbs where an old Chevrolet dealership used to be and snapped away. Sad that after 35 years, they had to board up and close shop. Seemed a perfect time to slap on some Recession Vinyl to go with the times.

For the next month or so, The North Face store in Harajuku will house a special photographic exhibition featuring two of Japan’s premier women’s street photographers, Miyuki Pai Hirai and Yuri Shibuya. Their ability to capture the streets and their surroundings are best highlighted by a selection of photos emanating from the 1990s. The exhibition which concludes on November 15th, 2009 and will move onwards to Osaka and Fukuoka.

What really got me into photography was long exposure photos – I remember using my Sony Cybershot DSC-P150 set on Manual mode, sitting at a Highway overpass capturing light trails of cars – Since then all I wanted to do is go out every night and shoot night lights and cars flashing by.

30sec @ f/22 – ISO 100 – Focal Length 10mm – HighLine Park – NYC

These images were captured about week ½ ago – they are fairly easy to shot – set the camera on a tripod, set your camera in Aperture Priority (Av), bump the aperture to f/22 or until your shutter speed reads something like 15sec+ exposure, set the camera to a 10sec timer (that way you wont shake the camera while pressing the shutter) a few seconds later, Voilà!

30sec @ f/11 – ISO 100 – Focal Length 17mm – Financial District – NYC

For the most part the camera + tripod does 80% of the job, once you take it to photoshop you’ll be able to change the white balance and play with brightness and contrast. The picture above of the Financial District, I was able to change the white balance (Blueish sky) and enhance the reds and oranges to have a bit of a pop color with the lights surrounding the buildings.

Now dust off your tripod and spend a few hours shooting ‘After Dark’

I <3 Macro - every time I attach the Canon 100mm f/2.8 MACRO to my camera, I get some amazing results. Being able to get a few inches from the subject and get stunning details is something that puzzles my mind!

What is “Marco” photography:
means to record a subject at life size on the negative or sensor. That means that the image on the negative or sensor is the same size as the subject in real life. In common usage, however, macro photography simply means an extreme close up image.

I gathered some subject from around my living room in order to get in depth details.
