Lets flashback two years ago. Jhooks puts some low offset wheels on his STI and gets shit from almost everybody. As time went on, more and more people started throwing on wider wheels with lower offsets on their WRXs and STIs. Of course, there were still those haters that always bitched about wheel bearings, wide wheels are non-functional, blah blah blah. Wheel fitment has come a long way in the Subaru community within the last couple of years. Everytime one of my friends purchase new wheels, it makes me wanna get a new set just to push the limit even more. Here is my homie Cliff that just got a set of Advan RS-Ds 18×10 +25 wrapped in 265/35/18 tires. I am anxious to see what the future brings…

True story. We didn’t even have 5×100 wheels that fit our WRX’s or 04 STI’s. We had to try to create something in low offset. You just had to see it as a game in the earlier days. You knew if you posted pics of your ride on the Suby boards you’d get alot of crap for it, but I just kept on posting. What’s funny is even some of the original haters have since bought low offset wheels and joined the movement. Cliff has been a pioneer in his own way. He’s showed alot of the douchebags in the Subaru world that fast cars can have fitted wheels. We still need newer people to step up to the plate. The aggressive fitment suby people are starting to get very repetitive like it was with standard fitting wheels before. They pick a setup, wheel, tire, color, etc from some other person that already works and then replicates that setup. There’s little research envolved with how people are building their cars. If you can’t google it then it can’t be done (wrong).
Yea everyone and their mom with a subie has 18 x 9.5 grids now. Just like a little while after Andy got his VS-XX everyone else got them.
