The first ever Hiero Day was held this past Monday, Labor Day in Oakland, Cali.  This phenomenal event (and I super bold emphasize PHENOMENAL) brought out all that’s good about  Oakland…the Oakland the media never talks about.  The very diverse community came out in full force, all in support of real hip hop.  The crowd was party rockin, good vibin and showing mad love, not only to the artists and DJs, but to each other.  This is the Oakland you don’t hear about in the news.  Blessed that I got to be a witness and proud that I was a part of this inaugural event.  Hip hop history in the making.  Check out all the pics below…of ONE LOVE in the biggity biggity O.

“It is a wonderful feeling to be able to give back to those who have supported us over the decades. To be able to do so in such a fun, public fashion and also to support the collective rise in civic pride and consciousness in Oakland, CA was an amazing experience. It can only get bigger and better from here, and we are already looking for ways to make this annual event even more special in years to come. Thank you Hiero Heads, thank you Oakland and the entire Bay Area for making this such a memorable event!”
