When we decided to put fatlace on cruise control back in 2004, one of our last features was The Kicks Aloha Dunk. You remember those, right? Made with that staple Hawaiian Lauhala weave seen in all those beach mats scattered along Waikiki Beach. Can you say super creative? I dont remember a dunk or nike as creative besides the Geoff McFetridge joint.. and that was a freekin vandal! Well, we decided to visit our good friends in Hawaii once again to see what they’ve been up to.

As you can see in the photos, Kicks has 2 locations.. wait, count 3 if we’re talking outside the Islands. St. Alfreds is their third store located in the windy city. It’s actually great to get caught up in the whole scene and see that our friends are still pushing hard to maintain and I personally can’t wait to get back to Michigan Ave and check out St. Alfreds.

Off that tangent, this 2nd store opened just over 12 months ago and I personally love the back lit shoes. Very Chanel-ish.. The Star Bulletin did a story on the opening, you can read it here. Much love goes out to the Kicks Fam and we’ll definitely visit soon.
