Check out this awesome editorial from Vogue Russia of Iris Strubegger shot by Partick Demarchelier. It seems as though they are really stressing jewelry this month as Iris seems to be dripping in accessories from all the big jewelry houses like Boucheron, Cartier and Van Cleef. I’m loving all the bling, chains and leather here and I always love over-accessorizing with jewelry so this editorial is right up my alley! I’m not exactly loving the leather hats, but otherwise this shoot is amazing (click to enlarge).

Alex & Chloe sign on to the Human Rights Campaign
When I first found out about Alex & Chloe , it was because of their “Coco is Dead” necklace. This instantly made me fall in love with them, and I’ve been lusting after each new collection.

So you can imagine my exciting when I opened up my email box this morning and read they were collaborating with the Human Rights Campaign.
The HRC is the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization which celebrate the universal power of love and raise awareness about LGBT equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against GLBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
“We are extremely honored to work with the Human Rights Campaign and fully support their continuing effort to attain equal rights for all people. WE LOVE YOU HRC!” – Alex & Chloe
I really really really love the necklace!

Erin Wasson joins Supermodel Skateboard Project
I’m sure most of us have now seen, and are big fans (men especially) of Doodah’s limited-edition Supermodel Skateboard Project. Erin wasson is the latest model to pose almost completely naked, except for a pair of amazing heels (Balmain!!!) for the project. Other models in the project include Lara Stone, Isabeli Fontana, Toni Garrn and Edita Vilkeviciute who were all shot by Claudia Knoepfel and Stefal Indlekofer.
Erin Wasson has one of the most favoured model-styles, whose laidback LA style has been imitated all over the blogosphere. Unfortunately for some die-hard fans, there will only be 150 of her boards made and will be available in mid-August. The boards go for 99 Swiss Francs, which is approximately $92US.
More info: Doodah.ch

Even though I don’t skate, I’ve always wanted a wall of really well designed skateboard decks and any of these Supermodel boards would fit quite nicely in my dream home. It’s no surprise that Erin Wasson was the newest edition to the project, considering she had a halfpipe built into the backyard of her LA home.

DIY Fringe Necklace
I forgot where I originally saw this necklace but I always wanted to make some sort of fringe necklace and finally got my butt up to do one! I didn’t do a step by step for this DIY but it’s pretty self explanatory and really really easy to make yourself just once you get all the supplies.
What you’ll need:
- Circle chain
- regular chain (your desired width/length)
- leather/suede string/yarn (amount is depending on how many fringe things you wanna make..i think I got like 6 yards)
- scissors
- pliers
- jumprings

Basically all you have to do is cut the leather/suede string into individual strips. Mine are about 6/6.5 inches long each but dont forget that you’ll be looping them around so don’t make it too short (I suggest no less than 5 inches). Also, I have 24 separate pieces.

Next take your circle chain and just start knotting them on each circle loop. Make sure you leave about 3 or 4 empty circles at the beginning and ends of your chain. I looked it up and the knot is called a Girth Hitch (sounds so ugly) so click the link and they have a little animation if you’re not sure what I’m talking about.

Now once you’re done knotting all the fringies on, using jumprings, attach the end of the circle chain onto the regular chain. Again, the length of your regular chain will determine how low/high the necklace will hang so it’s really up to you, but I always take note of what kind of tshirts/tops I’ll be wearing it with.
And that’s it! So simple huh! Literally took me like 20 mins to make! Even cutting the yarn took really quick if you just keep folding them to the desired length then cutting the whole bunch at once. I actually regret making mine out of black leather since I wear alot of black/dark colours and so the fringe doesn’t stand out against my clothes.
LASTLY: is there anything in particular out there that you ladies are trying to DIY? Just let me know and I’ll try to come up with a really easy to follow tutorial

Nails Did: The Minx Manicure
When it comes to nails, I love having mine done up in all sorts of glitter & neon.
Basically, the tackier the better.
(as you can see in the photos of my hands below)

Unfortunately having acrylic nails does leave some pretty lasting damage on your natural nails. So after three years of rockin the plastic, I had to go back to the real thing. My only beef with natural nails is that you can never get the same amazing designs as acrylic.
Well the other day my girl Erin put me onto this whole Minx Manicure trend. Apparently all the celebrities are doing it. So after hearing about this I went on a google hunt for the details on this new natural nail art. I so love it!!

So what is it exactly?
These very thin metallic looking stickers that give off the impression that your fingers have been dipped in metal. I dunno bout you ladies but I really need to figure out where I can get this done asap.
More details on the Minx Manicure here.
Have any of you ladies tried this?

She's Got IT: Kerin Rose
I’ve known Kerin for about 3 years now, one of the first (and most eccentric) girls I be-friended here in NY! From then on, she became more like family, someone that I’ve been able to watch grow into a successful entrepreneur and releasing her creativity to share with all of us. She’s got designs that make you go “Fo’REAL?!,” a charisma that just invites right in, and a booty that is too good to be true! The ladies of LadyLike can honestly say, WE HEART KERIN ROSE!!!
Check out her latest shades on Rihanna (I’m SOOO growing out my hair so I can rock it like RiRi btw):

And here are a few of Kerin’s other designs via a-morir…

PS. Betsey did an OUTSTANDING post on Kerin’s DIY sunglasses vs. “the other DIY’er” – BRAVO. Read Kerin’s comment at the bottom, well said ma!
Also, here’s an interview from not too long ago that we did at her AMAZING apt in the city – GAH! HERE
