Zach Manago—a promising HPU student, baseball player, and cyclist—was killed in December 2010 during a bicycle ride around Oahu. Although he was riding his bicycle on the road shoulder with proper equipment and lights, he was fatally struck by a hit and run driver.

Zach was passionate about safer bicycling facilities and wanted to make Hawaii safer so more people could bike. The Manago family and the Hawaii Bicycling League (HBL) have come together to raise awareness for safe cycling in Hawaii. Recently on July 12-13, they held Zach’s Ride in Paradise 2014 to help support this cause. Illest contributed by donating products to be raffled off at the event.

We would also like to thank the Manago family for the lovely care package they sent us! Mahalo!
