When Brands Fall..

..They Fall HARD.

You’ve probably heard by now or are now only beginning to notice that STREETWEAR is DEAD, EVERYWHERE. Stores that have their own brands are concentrating 2000% on their brands and are killing it (think newer brands like Huf or the Hundreds and of course older brands like Supreme, Neighborhood, and Atmos).

We all know that there are tons of brands that don’t have any type of history or concept that have made or are making a killing but we’ve noticed if you don’t have a store, it’s not happening at all. In the past couple months, we’ve noticed most doors aren’t welcoming streetwear because of the failing economy. In fact, we’ve dropped 50% of the brands we carried last year and are being very picky with who we’re pushing.

The Fatlace Store has been getting TONS of calls asking us to carry their brand but please note.. the direction has changed. The Fatlace Store will ONLY be carrying brands that have some sort of sport / outdoor activity and or function associated with it. So please, if you’re a Streetwear Brand that is inquiring to be in our door, please fit this qualification. Sport/Outdoor activity and or function defined by Fatlace is.. Skateboarding, Motorsports, Biking, MMA, Breaking, and Graffiti. Thank you for your understanding and as they’ve been saying for years, Only the Strong Survive.

    its death and rebirth.

at this point everything is at a standstill. one can only hope that these aspiring streetwear brands can pull their weight but in light of our economy people are more conservative with their money as well as their styles. i think with most brands there needs to be a restructuring of sorts as far as message and philosophies. america is in a crisis and there needs to be more of a message within streetwear. i think the true creatives are the ones who can innovate and make it cost effective yet aesthetically pleasing. i think history is about to repeat itself and in streetwear’s case, i think its death will only bring about a more impressive rebirth.
