Brad Royster vs. Darren Uyenoyama

Round 1
Short leg kick by Royster starts. Uyenoyama responds and they begin the feeling out process. Uyenoyama tries a takedown and finds himself in a guillotione attempt. He escapes and scrambles, taking Royster’s back and punishing him with strikes to open up the rear naked choke. Uyenoyama gets a warning for striking to the back the head from referee Herb Dean. The fights are back in the standing position and Royster’s aggression finds him mounted. Uyenoyama works for a topside guillotione, rolls into guard and Royster pops his head out during the switch. Uyenoyama finds himself working from his back, avoiding ground and pound with rubber guard and upkicks to finish the round. 10-9 Uyenoyama.

Round 2
Uyenoyama gets takedown to open round. He struggles to find offense from inside the guard while setting up a pass into half-guard then full mount. Royster gives up his back and starts to take blows again. Uyenoyama rides him high before getting better position and moving back into full mount. Royster creates space but can’t win the position battle. With Uyenoyama standing over him, Royster misses an upkick that finds him scrambling and on the losing end of full mount again. Uyenoyama reigns down blows and omplattass. Royster has a graceful escape and ends the round standing over Uyenoyama. 10-9 Uyenoyama.

Round 3
Leg kick by Uyenoyama ends timid opening. Royster tries flying knee then lands a low leg kick after resetting. Royster working combinations, finishing with leg kicks. Uyenoyama avoiding most damage and scores a late takedown, finding full mount. Strikes bloodied up Royster profusely, who was battered to the end. 10-9 Uyenoyama. The official judges see the bout 30-27 for Uyenoyama.
