Happy Father’s Day, improvised.

Since neither of us could be home for Father’s Day to celebrate with our respective families, my girl Sophia came up from San Diego. It’s been nearly a year since I’ve seen this chicka, but everything feels the same as we left it back in good ol’ Cupertino :)

Of course, I had to take her to the best kept secret on the west side. It’s one of those places too incredible to be put on blast via blog. Sorry folks.

You can’t go wrong with the masala chicken club sandwich. Yum!

How adorable is this? I didn’t pick up any said cupcake babies, but the red velvet sample was scrumptious. A Sprinkles vs. Vanilla bake off might be pretty intense. Food Network tv pitch, perhaps? hahaha

After running around Hollyweird for a few, we jetted back to Ocean Avenue for a treat at Boa Steakhouse. Although they’re known for their steaks, I’m madly in love with their cesar salad. A bit spicy and tangy; I do believe Tobasco is the secret ingredient.

The crab cake was phenomenal. Note: there’s only one, so if you’re extra hungry, or not much of a sharer, order two.

Sophia and I split the bone-in Kansas City filet mignon… but when we got our food, I got the steak and she got a clove of garlic. lol SUCKA!

BOA no longer has the stuffed steak, but their salad remains on point, the cocktails are great summer concoctions and their wait staff is more than courteous. Make your reservations early, head in around 7:30pm and enjoy some amazing food + sunset on the water with the people you love. It don’t get no better!
