The On Going Battle Of Pier 7
The rebel renegade skaters are at it again. Four out of five of the Pier 7 slabs are knobbed free as of right now (technically speaking). The only thing that stands between the skater and the City of San Francisco is the outstanding impressions that were left behind. Anyone got spackle? You can make a lot of skate goons real happy.
This is the perfect example of “if there is a will, there will always be a way”. I don’t think it is normal to let things go without a stand. The defiance in is us will always be there whether with skating, graffiti, politics, etc. It’s not the battle between good and evil, but more-so the battle of what you think is right and what you are willing to do about it to make that change. I think almost most native skaters would consider Pier 7 a done deal after the last time it got knobbed. I mean look at the last one that is still skate-proofed. The thing looks real retarded but effective enough to stop people from skating. If the City really wanted to, they could just bulldoze the thing down (putting our tax dollars to some real use) but instead, they make something that was essentially nothing even more worthless. I’ll give a couple of more weeks and by spring, people will be skating Pier 7 for a few days till the knobs go up again once again. If it happened to Hubba Hideout, if can happen here. For some real SF Pier 7 havoc, check out Marcus McBrides footy of him destroying the spot.
