HEAD QUARTERS

Sometimes I forget I am half-Japanese and that this place exists. Stopped by Fatlace HQ today in J-Town and swooped up my FL deck (1 of 3 colorways). If you haven’t copped one yet make sure to get it now and make sure to nab the others when they come out on their release dates. Shouts out to Kenny for the conversations today and showing what’s good in the store. And speaking of Japanese, this guy just rules….even though this guy is still king.

MOS DEF @ GOLDEN GATE PARK

One of the best tapas in San Fran has to be Cha Cha Cha’s. Always been to the Mission one but decided to hit up the Haight one before the Mos concert.

So to the people that didn’t go to this, did you miss out? Hate to say it but this one was the second time I saw Mos and it was yet again another bombed performance. Granted the sound check guys had no idea what they were doing but Mos did show up super late (as I expected) and only did about a 20 minute set before the mic got killed (peep the video here). Plus my nipples were hard as nails and my feet were in all jacked up from the walk from Twin Peaks.

Later went downtown to hit up some stuff with my boy Mark and checked out the new MacBook Pros that debuted the other day. Sometimes it can be very tempting to run in this store and take a desert eagle and rob them for everything they got….but instead I have to stand there and piss and moan about how I have no money and settle with what I have….which really isn’t all that bad but considering how Mac runs, my two year old machine will be the next paper weight on my desk (was that a run-on?) Burgermeister was pretty good too.

MIKE GIANT @ WHITE WALLS GALLERY

After looking at the Rebel 8 blog and Mr. Sciolist’s pics on Mike Giant’s opening night, I am kind of glad I kept low and did my family thing instead this weekend. I think this is the second big art show that I have missed from the White Wall Gallery and boy did they not disappoint as usual. I went there today with the luxury of actually examining each piece for the beauty that it is. Mind blowing to think that all of Mike’s stuff is done with the stroke of only a sharpie pen. I honestly don’t see a lot of people with this kind of control anymore. I mean we’ve all done it….taken a sharpie and watch the mother fucker bleed like menstrual cycle on any surface of paper. To hone that skill is quite a blessing and truly unique to all those non-skilled artist (like myself) that never master their craft. Make sure to check out Mike’s show at the gallery cause it will only be up for two weeks.

CHERISH THE DAYS

Big ups as usual to my folks at 510 for the hook up on the SBs and thanks to my roommate for the free tickets to the Alice concert. Another weekend down the tubes….

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

So I’ve been going to this burrito spot after my work out sessions (trying to get rid of that T.I. body) at always around 11:00pm…..just drowning my ears with some old RBL Posse on my iPhone and stuffing my face with a spicy pork burrito for about less then five dollars. You ever eat at diner and see one of those free newspapers just lying around? It’s like porno central in the back pages, ranging from miscellaneous spots to get your monkey stroked by (what it seems to be in every pic) some young lil’ Japanese mistress or even finding a “seasoned cougar” straight out the concrete jungles of San Francisco. And make sure to read the letters to the editor where people ask advice on their personal sexual relations and their encounters. Seems people still are mixing love and sex as two of the same thing and getting their feelings all butt hurt and damn near turning into a born again lesbian because of it. Pretty comical shit!

So where does this lead too? After skimming through the halloween infested party pages, found a gem taking place at Golden Gate Park on October 18th. A free concert featuring Mos Def with a full fledge orchestra! Mark you calendars cause Mos rapping Sex, Love & Money with a band would be pretty epic! More info, check MegSF.

WHAT UP WHATS HAAPNIN’

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I am like the 2nd string blogger here on Fatlace. After the superstars post, I come out of the woodworks to put up like a jumper or two….possibly draw a foul on a big man or press em’ with my tough defense. Regardless, I feel fortunate enough to just voice my opinion on here and show the world what I see through my eyes here in San Francisco and here in the good ol’ Bay Area. To catch up on my useless junk, click on the image above to see my personal blog site. Nothing too special aside from some art shows, a Mint Condition concert, and a Q&A session with Chazz Palminteri from A Bronx Tale. Hopefully since all the hacker hi-jinks is over, I can return the my regular programing here on Fatlace. Big ups to Mark again and to whole Fatlace crew. Let’s get it!

Also don’t forget to check out Mike Giants new show at the White Wall Gallery this Saturday and Piece Book signing at my usual stomping grounds at Upperplayground SF on Sunday. Should be some good stuff.
