June 24, 2009 – 1:35 am | One Comment | submitted by House of Commons

So Sas and I had a chance to meet up with Masa last week but unfortunately both our schedules were quite hectic so we just grabbed a cup of coffee and chatted a bit about his upcoming shop and such… very nice guy (his friend was cool too but I forgot his name, sorry!)

My brother Jerome just graduated from AI-SF. Congrats Rome!

Masa – SFC
June 13, 2009 – 8:06 pm | One Comment | submitted by House of Commons

This is Masa. He was kind enough to show our good friends Don and Gerrard (from Las Vegas), around Tokyo last week. He is also in the middle of opening his own shop, “SFC” in Yokohama and he will be carrying the House of Commons brand (more on that later…). From what I’ve heard, he’s quite intrigued with the SF culture, hence San Francisco City. The H(copyright) tee looks good on you buddy! I may be showing him around San Francisco next week since he might be in town. If so, we’ll be by Fatlace!

In Frankford
June 13, 2009 – 7:48 pm | Comments Off | submitted by House of Commons

This is a picture from the Rapha (rapha.cc) road journals while their stay in Frankford, WV. This is what my vision looks like after riding for 6 hours straight into the sun.  They always do a great job with editing and publishing their travels while on the road.  Go check it out sometime.

Their latest video from Asheville, NC.

I’ve been watching all their videos to get inspired and excited for our SF to LA ride.

San Francisco to Los Angeles
June 2, 2009 – 1:03 pm | Comments Off | submitted by House of Commons

So about a couple of weeks ago my friend Bryan hits me up and asks if I want to ride from SF to LA at the end of June. Yesterday I agreed to do the ride (Davis if you’re reading this, you will do the ride too!!!). I’m looking forward to riding with good friends and looking forward to the whole experience of the trip. We’ll be camping out every night at designated camp sites along the beautiful California coast. From what I’ve gathered so far, there are many flat sections, I’m sure some good climbs/descents, and definitely some breath-taking scenery. I believe Sas will be driving the support car and documenting the ride with her camera. We’re not exactly sure how many people are doing the ride for sure, but it’s looking like me, Bryan, Brandon, PJ and JSN (Macaframa) so far….We are all still deciding whether or not to do it fixed/free. If you are down for the cause and would like to donate anything that might help us along the way, hit us up at  contact at houseofcommonslv.com. We’re putting together a little promo flyer as we speak. 500+ miles to go… (I’m assuming there could be a decent chance we get lost somewhere, however… I hope not.)

Maiden Noir Denim
May 29, 2009 – 1:33 pm | Comments Off | submitted by House of Commons

For me personally it’s been hard getting into cut n sew brands these days, or maybe any brand for that matter.  I feel only a few are bringing it correct with the branding, marketing, quality, and design.  After laying low for quite some time on purchasing anything, I finally copped a pair of the Maiden Noir Slim Straights (Keep in mind I’m not a big denim person but I do like nice jeans from time to time).  They fit nice, have good sized pockets, and I do like the refined detail of the double belt loops. In general, they’re just a nice pair of jeans and I can’t wait to break/wear them in.  I’m also digging their other pieces like button ups, jackets, and 5 panels.  They don’t have an overwhelming amount of pieces in their collection, yet it’s just enough for someone who’s trying to get into their brand.  Quality over quantity.  I think the whole story behind their brand is pretty neat too.  Check out the story at their newly launched site at www.maidennoir.com  (big ups to the hommie Rhett at Cmonwealth for my fresh pair!)

Thank you Las Vegas
May 28, 2009 – 4:55 pm | 4 Comments | submitted by House of Commons

Taken from our site….

“TO OUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, CUSTOMERS, BRANDS, AND EVERYONE IN BETWEEN,

We are officially packing up and moving on.  June 9th we will be closing the doors to House of Commons Las Vegas. There are a number of reasons why we are choosing to move on, but we feel it’s the best move for us.

As sad as it will be to leave behind our LV shop, we are looking forward to building something great in the future.   With that being said, there is the possibility of another House of Commons opening, so stay tuned…

Meanwhile, you can find most of our products in our online shop at www.houseofcommonslv.com.  We will still be constantly blogging and keeping you guys updated with the latest happenings.

It has been a great two years in Las Vegas, and we want to thank everyone who has supported us and everyone who has helped us get to where we are today.   We have definitely met some truly amazing people and really cannot thank you enough.

Joseph & Saskia”
