Glow:Dark
I’ve been hooked to photo books since I worked on the Japan photo book – But not just any photo book. When Kanye West announced the 288 pages photo book of his Glow in the Dark tour, I pre-order the book through Amazon.
I have shot 2 concert before (N.E.R.D. x Lupe – and – G-Shock x Kanye West), both of these concerts I was just a spectator, I didn’t have a media credential nor full access to back stage or photographers pit or any sort of clearance to get “good shots”
I feel inspired by Nabil Elderkin who photographs are showcased in this book – from the different angle used on stage and off stage – to capturing the moment, Nabil was able to capture the “Glow in the Dark”
After looking at the images… Glow in the Dark was not just about Kanye West – other artists involved with Kanye where there to support him (or maybe just to hang out backstage) – Now I wished I was able to go to the concert – not just to take pictures but maybe to experience the showcase.
This book will serve me for inspiration on future projects – not just artistically but aesthetically. This book is worth more than what it sells for ($50).
Below is the most powerful shot of the book.
