Got off early from work on Sunday afternoon - (Yes.. WORK ON SUNDAY! grrr) on my way home I decided to pass by the Sara D. Roosevelt Park in the Lower East Side, And the peeps from Trackstar were playing bike polo. I’ve heard/seen pictures of the game but never had the chance to check it out.

Bike Polo, Cycle Polo or Bicycle Polo has been around since the late 1800s. It was invented in Ireland in 1891 by Richard J.Mecredy and played as early as 1900 by the British army and the Indian Maharajas. It is a relatively formalized sport, played on a court (typically grass) with various rules and regulations governing play and equipment.
