Mishka HQ – Greg’s Ofice. This place was an 80’s haven of forgotten toys. I spent 10 minutes in there pointing at every toy I used to have as a kid. Terry struggled to find any of his old figures. Greg explained he didn’t collect Barbie dolls.

Addict Showroom
January 13, 2010 – 12:44 pm | No Comment | submitted by Jay Addict

The Addict Showroom , showcasing the A/W 10 collection is in full effect after an all-nighter. A lot of coffee, mixed with plenty of Cola, Red Bull and pro plus made sure the space was looking crisp and tip top for appointments. Founders Chris Carden Jones and David Jefferies were on hand to prove you’re never too high up to get your hands dirty, making sure the room was worthy of the new collection.

On display are a range of new collaborations including fresh designs by Jimi Crayon, Teck 1 and Jimi Crayon. Of course there’s plenty more special treats, but we’ll be dropping more info on those at a later date.

Remember to keep tab on the sites blog on www.addictclothingco.com

DC x NASH
December 6, 2009 – 2:41 pm | Comments Off | submitted by Jay Addict

Its all well and good queing outside your nearest sneaker store to pick up a ltd pair of kicks (same old shoe but in a rare garish colour) but there’s got to be something better out there. I’m asking like I don’t know if there’s an answer, when really I do know.

For a while now, Nash has been getting sneaker heads hot and bothered for ages. To some of us his hybrid creations are like hard core german porn…Das iz zer zer Gud Yaa! But you couldn’t just pop into a store and pick up a pair, which really bugged me. It was like waving a Nando’s in front of a homeless person…frustrating, but fun in a perversed way!

But now the frustration is over. I made it down to the launch of his exclusive sneaker collaboration with DC shoes. I never thought I’d see the day a DC shoe would make me drool. This one did, uncontrollably. DC clearly let Nash do what he does best and it seems like they didn’t go over his head to make any changes. The shoe is available at Size, so don’t wait around to pick up a pair of these cross-stitched beauties!

Secret Wars travels to Bristol
December 2, 2009 – 4:36 am | Comments Off | submitted by Jay Addict

Secret Wars was in Bristol town to showcase London’s talent in the form of Teck 1 and Mr Gauky. Bristol’s team was made up of two equaly talented artists Andy Council and comic book artist Lorenzo.

So you knew from the start the art was going to be top class. Secret Wars is touching down in Bristol to establish itself there. Even though the live art battle has travelled and conquered the globe, Bristol has always been a spot that Secret Wars want to get right and do justice. There’s a lot happening there and the place is brimming with talent

Nissan Cube Car Launch
November 26, 2009 – 7:16 am | 3 Comments | submitted by Jay Addict

I hate cubes, ice cubes, sugar cubes, especially rubix cubes. They’re the most annoying of all cubes. So I went to the recent Nissan launch not expecting to enjoy myself and I definitely didn’t expect to like Nissan’s latest offering to the autombile industry, labelled ‘The Cube’ car. When I first saw images of the cube, I thought it was the kind of car that required a vagina to be allowed in the drivers seat and I definitely didn’t own one of those. But after seeing it up close and personal, I can definitely say that I would quite happily own one. In fact, Nissan please give me one!

This is the car for our generation and you can see Nissan are trying to tap into the young, cool and creative types by focusing on the arts (Secret Wars live illustration battle on the night) images of the car in front of grafitti backdrops. The Cube has even been described as more then just a vechile, its a sculpture and no expense was spared to deliver this message. Reeps One was on hand to perform and the set design was put together by Colette.

It would have been great if the artists were let loose on the cars with their markers, but maybe thats for a another event!!?

Great night, good people, but I still hate rubix cubes

Happy Reebok Pump 20th
November 20, 2009 – 10:00 am | Comments Off | submitted by Jay Addict

London celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Reebok Pump. Held at the Reebok Lounge, everyone from the industry turned out to party the night away.

We were there from the Monorex Crew thanks to our past projects with them.

I still can’t believe its been 20 years since the first pump. I remember crying to my parents for a pair, only to get a slap from a very strict mum as she fitted me for some plims…my mum was never cool.

I know London is a long way away, but if you happen to be over between the 3rd – 6th December then the Addict Sample sale deserves a drop in call. Addict are heading into 2010 with a few changes, nothing major, the warehouse is being cleared and moved to a different location, which basically means the originators can concentrate on what they do best…designing garms for you!

There’s going to be bargains galore, too many bargains. So its probably worth booking a flight and coming down!! Do it!

Alternatively, surf the web and visit www.addict.co.uk
