A Bugs Life

I really enjoyed the Bugs Life section at Disneyland and seeing it from their perspective. The design and layout was top notch. I wonder if the animators and artist of the movie ever thought they would have a section of disneyland. Must be nice and probably thee highlight of their careers.

WNKK Holiday Party

I went to the Holiday Party that WNKK threw. Was cool. Talked to alot of friends that I haven’t seen in a long time.

Jessica and Albert from Tokyo in the House.

Emily showed.

Gian and Alex from Homeroom. We talked a while about some cool stuff in the future.

Brad from Nemisis and Ronnie Fatlace showed up.

Peabe has some skills. Mike “Don’t Shoot Me” Martin.

Nelson, the Wifey, and posse.

I did a few 9×12s for the show. It was fun touching canvas. Haven’t done it in 10 years. Also haven’t wrote in a long time. Miss that.

It’s suppose to happen like that.

There are so many times that after something happens I think to myself, shit.. I guess that’s how it’s suppose to be. From the 36 years I’ve been in this world, most of the things happen cause..

a) You’re at the right place at the right time.
b) You’re friends with the right people.
c) or You’ve worked your ass off and no nothing more than pushing yourself to do better and better.

Reading Jeff’s blog on Kanye got me thinking how my cards were drawn out and the path to get me to where I’m presently at. I respect KW for his work as a producer and rapper but when you see a performance like the performance he had on SNL, I start to question why he would venture onto singing. Possibly there were problems with his vocalizer or possibly, just possibly, he can’t sing. Who know’s but he has worked his way to where he is today and honestly, it’s different but a good different, for sure and without a doubt it’s ballsy move on his part but then you have to question it after seeing the performance.

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Acosta

A week ago Katie and Amrafel got married at the Legion of Honour. Felt like I was in Paris as the Legion of Honor is a three-quarter-scale adaptation of the 18th-century Palais de la Légion d’Honneur in Paris. Sweet. Here’s some shots from the G10.

Miata Heads

I get a link from Wilson, the Dentist, yesterday and it linked me to a photo of the green miata shown below. After checking out the Kinod blogs, I realized these guys were into kinda into Miata’s. I almost came close to picking one up a few years back but decided to pass. These cars when fixed up look awesome and a good friend, Ricky Silverio would definitely appreciate this post. Check out a few shots by the KINOD guys.

Scion TC Fatlace Edition

So here’s the Scion TC. Many thanks to Andy & Garage Inc. for doing a great job on the build. I’ll have photos of the other cars in the Tuner Challenge but here’s a few to hold down the fort. The car was built to be used on the street. You wont have to worry about breaking anything and if you wanted to ride 4 people in the car, all you have to do it take out the harness bar which was wrapped in suede leather… Here’s some photos..

ImprintLab 2008

Was a pleasure being a part of the Transportation Panel at this years Imprint Culture Lab. It was cool seeing old friends and meeting a ton of people in the industry. I happened to be on the transportation panel with a few friends from the past so it made it a real comfortable environment. Jerry from Pacific Rim, Fred from Beyond Marketing Group, Ken Gushi, and two other guys I’ve only read or heard about through the wonders of the internet. The entire conference, whether it was the collab panel, transportation panel, gaming panel, or crafts panel, the theme of “collaboration” was heard throughout. You can click here to see the entire 2008 roster.

Keynote was given by Kenya Hara of Muji.

The Cult(ure) Members and their leader Mr. Hiroshi. (hi HF! had to do it)

FD X Fatlace Designs

So a couple of months ago John ID Agency hit me up about doing a colab with Formula Drift. Being the avid drift fan and drifter, I knew it would be a great collaboration. I knew the FD guys from way back, before they were even FD and even traded Nike’s for Booth Space at their first events…

Fast forward a couple years later, we’re doing a collab to celebrate the Locked & Loaded Round at Formula Drift’s Round 6 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma on September 13th, Fatlace has partnered with Formula Drift to create the Official Tshirt for the Event and I designed it. The T has a photo of one of our favorite mountains to goto when visiting Japan with the words, “Where It All Started…” Pick it up on Thursday the 11th at the In Store signing or you can get it at the event itself.

How it was designed.. Phillip Velasco took a photo while he was drifting with Ueno (Vertex) filming JDM Insider a few years ago. It’s a photo I used in the back cover and was a photo that was stuck in the back of my mind til today. I knew I wanted to use it again sometime and thought this would be the best time to do it. I dont have much time to do many design things outside of Nike but I found some time to do this while I was away on “vacation” last week. Hope you like.

This tee is sold only at Fatlace and at the Fatlace Booth at Formula D.
