Rice is Rop’s old hardcore band from the 90’s- the most most famous Filipino punk rocker of all time and he’s a comedian too. In celebration of the McQ Alexander McQueen for Target collection launch, Target will open a limited-time-only Target McQ Market. New Yorkers will be given the opportunity to shop the entire McQ for Target collection before it hits stores nationwide on March 4, 2009.

The Target McQ Market will feature booths made of chain link fence, distressed plywood and graffiti covered grates evoking the gritty ambience of Camden Market and nostalgia of a rock ‘n roll club. Young NYC artists will be creating one-of-a-kind pieces using prints, fabrics and embellishments from the McQ Alexander McQueen for Target line. Live performances by local NYC bands Lissy Trullie, Golden Triangle, Phenomenal Handclap Band, and Acrylics from 7pm-9pm:

congee from Congee Village or from anywhere in chinatown!!!! best new afterhours is the shank (sorta new i should say- its been open for a month randomly)- parties at 5am- rad dj’s – bands soon – rumor has it valient thorr, ninjasonik, japanther and more are gonna bring the first live joints here. don’t show up til 5am though- that’s when cabs literally line up in front and start spilling out insomniac mixture of celebs , models, tweekers, and other random troublemakers. I literally get a text every night at 4am- “yo party at the shank” – some fools gotta work though, at least sometimes!
