When I first saw this commercial I thought to myself, “who would waste their money on that?” Well, I had a friend who would buy the most random things from infomercials. Usually while he was irie, haha. There is a market out there.

From an early age we are attracted to the act of sliding… Think back to your classic childhood “Trip to the local park” scenario . If I remember correctly the things that would always have a line of 6+ kids behind them were slides. It didn’t matter if you were wearing your little day-glow 80’s shorts, you’d still take the chance of 3rd degree burns on your ass to give it a shot. Fast forward to today. I really don’t think I’ve changed much.. Although my Shorts are usually longer and I don’t hang out on a jungle gym, I still slide: my car, my skateboard, my bicycle, and my snowboard. The only thing that’s changed is my sliding mediums. But one medium I never though I’d get to roll on again is the classic “Big wheel”…… Until now.

KAWS is the reason why some of us kept trudging along in the graffiti world. In 1995, I, along with a few others, picked up the whole, “lets open up some bus poster shelters and steal the posters and then replace them with our artwork on top of the poster” technique. It’s awesome to see how far he has gone.
This segment profiles the artist known as KAWS, former Graffiti (tag) artist turned painter and designer of limited edition toys and clothing. This segment also features some cool clips of KAWS’ art, displayed in Pharrell Williams’ Miami Home and Kanye West’s latest album cover and billboard.
You can catch his next exhibition,

A fierce fire engulfed a major new building in Beijing that houses a luxury hotel and cultural center Monday, the last day of celebrations for the lunar new year when the city was alight with fireworks.
The building was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and is part of China Central Television’s new headquarters, an angular wonder of modernist architecture that was built to coincide with the Beijing Olympics last year.
We were there last year and were amazed at the site of these awesome buildings. I’m wondering if it’ll ever get rebuilt.
