DRIFTING PERFORMANCE HANDBOOK
When it comes to misunderstood Motorsport there’s no denying that drifting is one of them. It seems that anyone that is involved in drifting day-to-day is prepared with their own explanation, which is overwhelmingly divergent from his neighbor’s understanding of what it really is. Drifting 5 years ago was not an easy task since we had almost zero guidance on how-to. I’m jealous at everyone that are coming into the scene now since you have Drift Days and other several drifting “organization” having events after another. Parts are available right off the shelves on some of the local shop. It’s still not an easy task to be a “drifter” after jumping in the driver seat and kill it right away. Only I could do that.
All of us have ego, we usually don’t like asking people question on how to drive. I pride myself on my honesty. Except for the things I lie about, I’m 100% honest. Don’t worry, I only lie to girls. Everything else, I’m honest. Probably too honest. What about if there’s a book that shows car preparation, drifting technique, suspension tuning and other several contents about drifting in general?

Wait no more, a good friend of mine Calvin Wan recently publish a Drifting Performance Handbook. Calvin mentions the book before it went public and I was not very impressed, “Another one of those book huh?” We have too many drifting books out there that explain twat and writers that have no real driving experience. Calvin is too nice for me to tell him that his book will suck and it will flop. I was proven wrong and this isn’t the first time, I’m wrong most of the time.
I recently had dinner with Calvin and he happens to bring a few copies of his book, I went through it quickly at the dinner table and I was very impressed. I was so impressed that I had to steal buy a copy.

If anyone who is qualified to write a book about drifting, car preparation, drift set up and history of drifting its Calvin, who has the experience of being a driver, the first import car to win in Formula D, stunt driver, and an avid road racer. Calvin started drifting back in 2000 before drifting hit mainstream in the US and got his first break in 2003 after getting selected as one of the 8th finalist to make it into the main event in D1 Grand Prix Inaugural Event which led him driving for Falken Tires.

This book covers almost everything you need to know about drifting, history, car set up, racing fundamentals, and other several of contents and the only thing missing is you driving. It also has dope photos provided by Antonio Cipher Garage during all his travel all over the world taking drifting photos. I highly recommend this to anyone whether you are new to drifting or have been drifting; there are many resources in this book that you can learn from. It’s almost like I wrote it because I knew everything in here, except Calvin has a better grammar.

Enough bickering and go out there and buy it or you can just email Cal at calvin.wan@hotmail.com to buy the book and make him rich. He’s also going to be at the JDM Theory Car Show this weekend at SF Japan Town signing his book for free if you purchase 2 books. See you guys there!
Trend is defined as a popular tendency at a given time. In it’s short and adventures history, drifting has become more than a trend. It has become a lifestyle.
