I’ve always been the dude that tries to support friends or people that supports real shit in the industry. It’s hard to do this when you are broke like I am but in the same time still want to continue to do your hobby.
Let me give you an example, people that make real parts vs chinese parts that are 50% cheaper.
What do you do in that situation? Do you miss a couple of events or not drive for a few months that you can save up for the real ’shit’ or say fuck it, buy whatever you can afford now and drive?
The good people with shops that supports real motorsport are starting to vanish because they can’t compete with knock offs. But it’s in our blood to buy cheaper shit. If they look the same, they do the same people will buy it no matter what it is.
I know my answers, I just want people to think.
i FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL you
I have always felt that it’s always the people with the money telling the people with little money what they should buy. That being the real, expensive stuff. It’s kinda like the rich people that want everyone to drive hybrids while they drive their lambo. It’s just that next level of pride (I can get this and you can’t, but you should still be rockin what I got.) People will always have a certain budget and even with me getting paid more than I ever have it’s still not easy to go out and spend 2,500 on wheels and that much again on “real” coilovers. I’ve always supported my local shops, and most everything I’ve had is real…with the occasional megan coilover thrown in there, haha.
