October 14, 2009 – 9:38 pm | Comments Off | submitted by piratedjsivan

New colorways of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike have been popping up left and right lately. We’ve recently showed you some sneak previews of some upcoming Spiz’ike colorways like the Mars Blackmon edition, the almost “Grape” version and the Black/White/Red pair that was recently mistaken for a DJ Clark Kent design. Now, we get to feast our eyes on yet another new installment in the Spiz’ike series, this time taking one of the simpler color blocking approaches seen so far. The shoe sports a solid black patent leather upper with a touch of suede and some additional Red and Light Grey accents. No word yet on the release info, but you can expect these to hit stores some time next year. For now, keep reading after the jump for a full look at both sides of the shoe and stay tuned for further info.

Pioneer CDJ 2000

Pioneer CDJ 2000

It’s here! The CDJ-2000 pro-grade DJ player for the digital age

Evolution. Changing times call for changing tools. That’s why our new multi-format player is the natural selection for the next generation of DJs.

It’s been 15 years since the genesis of Pioneer’s first CDJ deck, which led to the world-beating CDJ-1000 series.

Now it’s time for something completely new.

Introducing a major leap forward for the club standard CDJ series: the CDJ-2000 – Pioneer’s new professional player for the digital age.

The CDJ-2000 fizzes with fresh DNA and can play music from multiple sources, including CD, DVD, USB storage devices and SD memory cards.

It also comes with the revolutionary music database management software for DJs: rekordbox™. Based on our ‘Prepare & Perform’ concept, rekordbox works (for both Mac and PC) like the leading music database management software, but is more creative and more DJ-friendly.

rekordbox allows DJs to prepare more before their performance and opens a door to tools such as Hot Cue Banks and Quantize, for perfectly synced loops every time. DJs can then export data to a USB or SD device to access vast libraries of music files and perform live – without the need for extra equipment or any inconvenient rewiring in the club.

CDJ-2000

All major music formats from multiple sources, including USB and SD card.
No need to burn CDs, simply take your USB device to the club, plug in to the CDJ and play.

Through the industry-first Pro DJ Link, music files and database data on one single USB or SD device can be shared simultaneously by up to four players connected via LAN (local area network) cable.

Plus, the data history of each DJ set is automatically saved and can be made into a playlist that can be loaded back into rekordbox.

Another key facet of the CDJ-2000 is its advanced HID (human interface device) and MIDI capabilities for native control of DVS (digital vinyl systems) via USB. What’s more, it achieves Pioneer’s highest sound quality to date through an improved audio output circuit, a new audiophile-pleasing Wolfson DAC processor, and a built-in 24-bit/48 kHz sound card.

Naturally, the CDJ-2000’s layout is related to its robust, reliable predecessor, the CDJ-1000MK3. However, although it fits easily into the MK3’s footprint, it ramps up performance with the largest (6.1-inch) clearest full-colour screen in the business.

Below the screen is an industry-first waveform Needle Search™/Needle Drop ribbon, so that all the convenience of direct file browsing can now be found in an intuitive hardware format. Add to these features a highly evolved illuminated Jog wheel, and an overall enhanced design, complete with carry handles and Kensington lock, and you have the ideal digital innovation for total performance and seamless synchronisation.

The CDJ-2000 is available from November 2009 with a suggested retail price including VAT of €1799 which includes rekordbox software.

Well a long time ago, one dj help get our culture’s music get on commercial radio and paved the way for many of us in the “dj community”. I WANT TO SEND OUT THE UTMOST RESPECT AND CONDOLENCES TO THE MEMORY OF JOHN RIVAS—-aka MR. MAGIC

HE PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING OF A HEART ATTACK…..

TRUE HIP HOP HEADS KNOW THAT HIS HISTORY IS SO LONG

BACK TO WBLS in 1985 and WDAS in Philly SIMULTANEOUSLY

HE PAVED THE WAY FOR ALL RADIO STATIONS THAT EVER DID MIXSHOWS AND ALSO SPARKED THE CAREER OF BOOGIE DOWN PRODUCTIONS DUE TO THE DISS HE SHOWED WHEN THEY CAME TO SHOP THEIR DEMO TO HIM AND WAS TURNED AWAY WHICH THEN SPARKED “SOUTH BRONX” AND “THE BRIDGE IS OVER”…….

HE WAS KNOWN FOR HIS DIRECT AND SARCASTIC ATTITUDE ON THE AIR AND EVERY ARTIST WANTED HIS APPROVAL WHEN IT CAME TO BREAKING NEW RECORDS……..HE EVEN HAD SONGS DEDICATED TO HIM BY THE LEGENDARY WHODINI–(”MR. MAGIC’S WAND”) WHICH WAS SURPRISINGLY PRODUCED BY ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARTISTS THOMAS DOLBY…….

Activision started recruiting DJs for DJ Hero 2
October 1, 2009 – 8:41 am | Comments Off | submitted by piratedjsivan

Launch_controller2_med
DJ Hero won’t even hit stores until the end of this month but Activision is so sure it will be a success that they are already
recruiting DJs to jump on board for DJ Hero 2. In fact, Activision CEO Mike Griffiths thinks DJ Hero has the ability to outsell the hugely successful Guitar Hero.

“Outside of those 15 million household’s, there’s another 300 million that haven’t for one reason or another bought Guitar Hero yet. One of those reasons is we’re not reaching new genres and new music audiences in a way that DJ Hero allows us to accomplish,” stated Griffiths.

In order to develop updates to DJ Hero and new franchises, the company has already enlisted various game programmers to start working on DJ Hero 2 and is currently recruiting high profile DJs such as Q-Bert to join the DJ Hero family. Activision only has one thing left to do….sell over 15 million copies of DJ Hero. Via: GameIndustryBiz

“New images of DJ Clark Kent’s latest contribution to East vs. West Rivals Pack have become available, as the model prepares for a release next month. With an ostrich leather heel panel, sticky gum sole, and muted fall color scheme, the sneaker provides quite the contrast to Eddie Cruz’ purple croc-skin AF1 Low model. Dr. Dre presents “Beats Audio” Hi-End Audio Software For HP Laptops

Exclusive: Dr. Dre presents “BEATS AUDIO” hi-end audio software for HP laptops

We have exclusive word straight from the folks at HP about what makes the upcoming Dr. Dre HP Envy laptop so freakin’ special. The most obvious difference is the all black matte casing with the glowing Dr. Dre “Beats” logo on the top…Yea. Hell Yea… but it doesn’t take a computer genius to see that difference. What will make the Dr. Dre x HP Envy so special in which they declare as the “Mac killer” is not just the sleek design but true to Dr. Dre style…it’s all about the sound. The HP Envy will be the first laptop to feature a “cutting-edge” sound system designed by Dr. Dre’s sound engineers labeled “Beats Audio.” The “Beats Audio” sound software was developed by the same folks that engineer Dre’s tracks and also helped design the Beats by Dre headphone line.

According to HP, Dre has developed “…a unique, high-performance audio software solution. Available exclusively on the HP Envy, Beats Audio offers users playing music or audio through headphones or external speakers the optimal sound experience – the way the artist intended it.”

HP would not give us any further details at this time about the Beats Audio software but did mention for us (and our readers) to be on the lookout for more information as the HP Envy and the Dr. Dre Edition hit stores on October 18th with prices starting at a very Mac-like $1,699 and up. Rumors that the Dr. Dre edition will include the Beats by Dre headphones were neither confirmed or denied.
