Meatwad-o-lantern
November 2, 2009 – 11:50 pm | No Comment | submitted by Reign Fatlace

Only die hard Aquateen Hunger Force fans can probably figure out the inspiration for my jack-o-lantern. I used a knuckehead pumpkin for the bumpy meat look. Never again will I carve a knucklehead, it was like sawing wood! Reminded me of the good ol’ days carving foam in ID, minus the dust, haha. I even broke a knife! Wack ass pumpkin carving tools.

Here are a few clips of Meatwad, if you haven’t seen ATHF yet.

Bryan’s Jetta, iPhone Photoshop App
October 28, 2009 – 7:50 pm | One Comment | submitted by Reign Fatlace

Here’s a shot of Bryan’s Jetta. The body is modified to fit his polished custom BBS mesh wheels. Check out that lip. A lot of attention to detail and time has been put into this car from the bumpers, Alcantara interior, super rare mirrors and the list goes on. He drives it with German plates. How the heck he gets away with it… I don’t know.

We had a chat about modified cars, racing and flushness. He wants to go to a show and be able to mash on the way home without any adjustments. I’m supposed to get better photos. I’ll post them up when he sends them to me.

I took this shot with the iPhone and edited with the Photoshop app. Not bad, but I wish there were a selection tool and blur/sharp/pixelate filters.

Lopez Restaurante Y Cantina
October 12, 2009 – 12:30 am | No Comment | submitted by Reign Fatlace

After checking out the Monterey Aquarium a few weeks ago, the plan was to have some Mexican food. There were a few spots at the Row, but Yelp said that the best one was off the main strip called Lopez Restaurante y Cantina. It was a 5 minute drive, but worth it. I didn’t expect to taste some authentic tasting Mexican food at Monterey. A few years ago I got a taste of my friend’s mom’s homemade enchiladas. They were the best enchiladas I’ve ever tasted. This restaurant comes close. If anyone knows somewhere in SF where I can get this kind of flavor let me know. We had a stack of Nachos, Chile Relleno and a Chicken Enchilada. I’m coming back to try out some other dishes for sure.

Swervy and crooked

I hope this guy didn’t pay for this racing stripe, it’s crooked. Can’t even drive straight. I’m guessing it was a DIY Racing Stripe kit, haha.

Monterey Bay Aquarium
September 27, 2009 – 1:29 am | Comments Off | submitted by Reign Fatlace

Last Friday I took a day off to go to Monterey with Mara and Aiden to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I love sea life and fishing, so this is one of my favorite places to visit. Last time we were here it was a spur of the moment trip and we had an hour to check everything out. Not enough time. You need at least three hours.

We started at the jelly fish area. Some of them remind me of the ones that bug Sponge Bob. The popular ones are the bright, lit orange ones. I brought a 50mm lens to capture all the action. Next stop was the Sea Horse exhibit. The magical music was hella annoying. Cool to see the sea horses though. Weird fish I gotta say. Checked out some sharks, tuna, anchovies and I finally saw an octopus moving quick! They’re smart, they are given jars and puzzles with food inside to keep them busy. The scuba dude was entertaining. He had a contract with the sharks that said “as long as you feed us, we won’t eat you”. I saw a lingcod face to face. One of these bad boys forced me to get a lifetime fishing license. Long story, I’ll get to that in another blog. Then we saw the sea otters. You otter go to Monterey!

Call Fail, AT&T and iPhone
September 17, 2009 – 2:22 pm | 2 Comments | submitted by Reign Fatlace

I don’t ask for much. Just want my phone to be able to make calls… one of the most basic functions of a “phone”. I used to be with Verizon. Yes, dropped calls happened and every carrier has dead zones. My dropped call count was about 2-3 a month with Verizon. Switched to AT&T for the iPhone, now my dropped calls are 2-3 a day. 3G is rarely available in the middle of the city and we don’t have SMS, a feature my candy bar phone had at 2000. I’m not sure how AT&T will be able to keep it’s customers. The iPhone isn’t enough for me to stay after my two year contract is up. I always wanted an iTouch. Now I have one that can sometimes make phone calls.

It’s gonna be a scorcher… Well maybe not like the desert, but hot
enough for the SFC. Definitely a good day for halo halo! It ain’t
Waiola shave ice, but I’ll take it! Wish we had good shave ice here in
the mainland.

At a quick glance I thought this was Spie. Very close letter style.
