Only die hard Aquateen Hunger Force fans can probably figure out the inspiration for my jack-o-lantern. I used a knuckehead pumpkin for the bumpy meat look. Never again will I carve a knucklehead, it was like sawing wood! Reminded me of the good ol’ days carving foam in ID, minus the dust, haha. I even broke a knife! Wack ass pumpkin carving tools.

Here’s my latest collection of daily photos. What inspired me to post was the Skate or Die tag. So simple, no style while risking sweat from the popo’s. Message is clear… passion. Most people who put up street art, propaganda or graf have passion for what they are representing.

Italy Graf: Trecase Train Station

A few years ago I took a three week trip to Italy. Along the journey I saw tons of graffiti ranging from tags, throwups, to pieces like these. I’ll dig up more photos in the next few weeks.

This was at the Trecase station.

Here’s a cool character. A lot of piecers used to use that green glow effect back in the day. I wonder how old this is?

Gios was all over the trains going both directions. Very clean and consistent can control.

Ink and some other tags on Lombard Street

Last Saturday, we had Brunch at Circa which is on Chesnut and Fillmore. Parking lots were full so we were forced to park at a meter. Parking at a meter means feeding it every hour. My eye was always on the clock. Near our car were some tags. The “ink” tag stuck out to me because it was simple and clean. There was also a flow and combining of letters. This writer can use paint and a marker which is an important skill. Being able to use any media and making it look good is a must. For comparison, I’ve included some other tags that were also in the area.

Rodin, Kara, Lost and Shark Fins

Last weekend was Yvonne and Khang’s wedding at Stanford.

In the courtyard were some works by Rodin, Burghers of Calais (1884 – 1895). Flat images of the sculptures don’t do them justice. You have to see them in person.

Mara heard that there’s a Kara’s Cupcakes nearby. Found out it was about a mile away, so we had no choice but to go. Mara thinks Sprinkles is too dry and sweet. So we didn’t even go there, though it was closer.

They had baby onesies, but I won’t have my boy wear anything with cupcakes, haha! I gotta say, Kara’s is pretty good. My sister in law swears by “Sweet Dreams” cupcakes. We’ll see about that.

The reception was a few hours later at ABC in Foster City. Congrats Yvonne and Khang!

Started with Fresh Fruit Lobster Salad.

Here are Letty and Gordon. Sitting next to them reminded me of the TV show “Lost.” If you look at the very first picture, they are in the shot with me and Aiden.

Sicker gets up with this throwie. That’s climbing skills! How do you
paint and balance that high up on a thin ledge? Buffing it out is also
dangerous. Probably why it’s still up.
