Last night my pals from way back Teresa and Chet invited me to watch Kobe and Carmelo play NBA Live 2K10. For some reason I thought it was gonna be at someones house and not a red carpet event.
Chet is a writer from Portland that also did the WK12 program the year before me. If you ever had fun in Portland.. it was probably cuz of this guy.

As I predicted about 3 years ago cowhide was going to make a severe comeback. It was huge in the late 80’s early 90’s with everything from Harley Davidson saddles, to Pee Wee Hermans couch. Eames has implemented it to the popular LCW office chair in Limited quantities. I would like you to pay attention to the sudden explosion to cowhide application from Vis Vim, to Head Porter… and Mark (Smith) the first cowskin Jordan will be very successful.. I’m just sayin’.
Anyway… Eames Gallery has 500 of these chairs for $2,000 each… I got one.. cuz I’m rich.. but if your into being cooler than everyone else I highly recommend snatching a truly limited and collectable piece of furniture. Last night I got to hang with my capitol B-O-Y’s Brandon Pierce and Mike Warzin, who just completed creating and shooting the new Nike Hyperize commercial. They have been in L.A. and Vegas the past 2 months filming and recording with DJ Quick (who has an appearance in the video a few times). Brandon has a mix tape coming out… its not something you will want to go pick up… its something your gonna miss out on cuz your not gonna hear it.. but you can try.
Mike almost Bernie Madoff’d the manager at Benihana last night… but instead smoked a ciggerette with Macaulay Culkinand Mila Kunis… who are together and happy they would like to mention.

Nowadays he like to make fun of celebrated artists. Damien Hirst used 8,601 diamonds to make his famous skull that sold for over $100,000,000. Riswold used 8,602 doughnut sprinkles and costs considerably less than that! Kerry Simon over at Proletariat made these Hover Board decks with graf artist Evoker. Only 50 available, this seems right on time with everyones sudden obsession with a 20 year old movie. Not sure if there are any left but peep the site and see what Cambridge Mass core Gaffiti shop has to offer… remember the word “anorak”? I love that word.. it makes me want to fight a Yeti.

This was before everyone’s time… but i think everyone can appreciate it. As an ad school student Jelly Helm sent this clever idea to every agency he wanted to work at. No resume, no portfolio, just a check for $22,000. (Back in 1989 that was a decent annual salary!) This little stunt got the entire industry’s attention, as well as winning One Show awards. What happens when someone attempts to cash the check? The bank only charges you $25… so its worth it!
I stopped by my neighbor Rian’s house cuz he got a new bee hive. Bee’s are like little rottweilers, they are cool unless you hit them with a rock. We took apart the box with no smoke or masks or nothing. They Bee Chillen… (..so lame…)

My friend Jose has been working on a few interesting projects lately. This one in particular is a website for the band Orba Squara. The way it was designed was the story of a cross country tour all displayed scrolling to the right. You will recognize some well known land marks, as well as a few private observations. If you want a few genuine minutes of surfing the country, take this 11 day trip on the site with a relaxing soundtrack. This is the First Random Collective from Jose Cabaco.
