it was..

a great vacation..

its too nice here..

my first night in Waikiki..

the next day we hiked up to Diamond Head..

inside the bunker..

rewarded myself back at the bottom with some shave ice ;]

stop over japan..

Japan has such an awesome airport in Narita.. this half of the airport i didn’t even see the last time..

they had a store with AMAZING origami..

and great prints up and down the corridors..

Waikiki.. the view at the hotel wasn’t that great but hey, the weather is awesome.

Aloha & Mahalo.

Hawaii bound..

the last couple days in the Philippines..

it rained a bunch during our stay, seeing as it is the rainy season over there…

my grandpa has a bunch of cocks for cock fighting.. hahaha but %&$# those things dude! i hate waking up to that sh*t!

wasn’t much to do but chill during the rain..

my dad has a palm boat for fishing and it was the first time i rode it.. its not really a good idea to drink heavily the night before and go out to sea in the HEAT, accompanied with sea sickness… you get the idea..

left the province and headed to the city.. stayed at the Waterfront hotel and casino. cool place.. lots of things were going on that weekend like.. ballroom dancing competitions, weddings, etc..

the pool was specially reserved for me…… sike. i just don’t understand closed signs..

i really love the Philippines.. its a great place to vacation.. just be careful! don’t get kidnapped for ransom or anything..

little yodas!

took a little boat ride on the Loboc river.. before the ride they have these little guys hanging out around the entrance..

the smallest monkeys in the world.. the Tarsiers!

again thanks to typhoon fengshen the river was brown..

along the river you they have little stops where people perform and play music for donations.. at this stop they were doing the tinikling. my cousin and i decided to tryyy hahaha

after the rriver ride we decided to do a little hiking..

Tagaytay Highlands Resort..

chilled at a resort for a day.. it was a pretty nice place. they’re starting to sell new lots and houses that are really nice and pretty affordable, compared to places like san diego. definitely a nice area to live in.. but theres no stores for milesssssss.

if you notice in the background you use cable cars to get around the area..

stuck in the jungle..

so one of my first adventures here in the Philippines was visiting Pagsanjan Falls, or if you’re a local “Magdapio Falls”.

here’s a view of the river from the top of the valley..

(left) the beginning of the descent .. i wish i could have taken more pictures to show the freakin crazy flights of stairs, but my n00b ass forgot to change the camera battery. some parts had vertical ladders where you had to be strapped in by harness and be lowered by people at the top..

(right) a view through the jungle of one of the falls..

the jungle book steez.. i felt like a giant python could just swoop me up out of nowhere..

at the bottom of the falls.. you can thank Typhoon Fengshen (Frank) for the brown water. usually its clear blue and not as rapid. you can ride a bamboo raft under the fall and get what they call a water massage, but Frank had washed away all rafts and even a small house that had rested at the bottom. that’s also why we had to trek down, because you can usually take a raft up river.

climbing and hiking back up was a beeeeeeeeeyotch! but whatever haha

that was enough for one day.. i think i lost 10 pounds that afternoon..

the first day..

recappppppp ( June 23 )

took off from San Diego to Portland, Oregon pretty damn early in the morning.. then from Portland, i took off to Narita, Japan! I had a 5hr stop over in Narita before i left to Manila, PI.

here’s just a few shots over the first 24 hrs…

yeah.. i remember now.. coach sucks!

wasn’t much to do at the Portland airport..

then hopped onto a plane for Narita.. over the next 9 hrs or so i got to catch up on some movies that Northwest Airlines provided.. i remember watching 3000 b.c., Jumper, Fool’s Gold, and Definitely, Maybe. I don’t think i ever watched that many movies consecutively… but it sure made the trip seem a whole lot shorter.

the food wasn’t that bad tho…

once i got to Narita i pretty much just fell asleep for the next 5 hours in some pretty comfy reclining chairs that they had. excuse my tired, non-shaven, burnt looking, cowlick havin appearance.. hahaha

i wish we had vending machines like these tho…

next stop Philippines…

wish you were here..

its pretty hard finding a place with internet where im at so i’ll post my trip slowly over the next few days as i get closer to more developed regions…
