Wu-Tang’s guide to Staten Island… not really…
In celebration of my last day at the Foundation (suprise!), John took the day off so we could take a RANDOM trip to Staten Island before I started my new gig (back to the web world folks!). Igei and I took the free ferry ride from downtown to SI… it was not only convenient, but a great way to sneak a view of the city and the statue of liberty! I highly recommend it.
The station has a special area for bikers…

Snacks for the the trip: chocolate chip cookies freshly baked and salt and peppered chips!

Ok, so I forgot to mention, I actually DID google “wu-tang” and “staten island” and “guide” all together in hopes to come up with some kind of tour set up for my first trip to Staten Island (made ever so famous by MTV’s reality shows like Sweet 16 and True Life) and I came up with this: A WU-TANG GUIDE TO STATEN ISLAND. In attempts to follow the guide, I failed because we ended up riding our bikes about 7 miles the wrong way… UPHILL 80% of the time!!! Why? Because we forgot the name of Redman’s “skatique” and went to another skate shop that was, yes, on top of that hill in the middle of the island. FUN. Igei was smart, he walked up most of it… damn.

I wish I could have provided you with more photos of the trip, but you guys aren’t missing THAT much, a lot of suburban frontier and hills… We DID pass this armory however…

So Scotty came to the rescue and let me know where Redman’s shop was. THANK YOU!
Its called RICHMOND HOOD. Say whattup to Calendar and Mr. Tariq – nicest guy you’ll EVER meet! He’s going to give us the proper Wu-Tour when we decide to go back =)

They carry Western Edition decks there too – so of course they had Johnny’s up =) yay!

That’s Tariq and that’s his special barbershop area in the back…

We signed the bathroom =)

It was time for us to leave, next time we go, we’ll have to check out the spot where they shot C.R.E.A.M. and the Stapleton PJ’s, etc etc… Thanks again to Tariq and Calendar for welcoming us with open arms – and the perfect cup of coffee!
Now back to the Manhattan island… look! That’s my new jacket my old job gave me as a parting gift!

Everyone waiting to get off…

That was the best random day ever..
