omg i know i owe many of you explanations for my absence.

last wednesday i got into a pretty serious bike accident leaving me bedridden for a few days, 6 to be exact, at the hospital. pardon my typos, i still have cast on.

as john and i were riding back home from the city to bk, john passes me as he always does down the wburg bridge, almost at the foot, then another mtn biker speeds right past me trying to get in front ofjohn. in my head, oh no, this guy is an idiot. just as he passes me, i see him trying to get around john’s right side and BAM! he rides right into a jogger!

i veer toward the left to make it past a small gap between him and the bridge, but then he loses control as he slams on the brake to check on the jogger. that’s all i remember. i wake up, on the floor, pool of blood, one eye shut. lots of concerned faces. lots of screaming for an ambulance. i see chris, i hear john, i see mtn biker, i see jogger, i see passerbys giving me the “OMG” look.

i want to go to sleep, but they tell me no, to keep my eyes open. its hard because i feel the thick blood dripping all over my face. so i struggle to stay concious as the ambulance draws near.

they finally arrive, bandage me up and roll me to the ambulance. john rides home and meets me in the ER. i realize that my right arm feels funny and then pain, shock, and nerves hit while i’m in the ambulance. i make small talk with the paramedic. trying to ease any discomfort of my appearance to make both of us feel better. i tell him – you think i’ll look better in time to be in front of a camera? because i have this twicon thing i need to be at end of the month hehe.

ER sucks. i’ll get back to that later. too many hours of agony spent there. i shed a tear or two, not from pain, but from the lack of attention to my burning face. they finally unbound my bandages and again, i get the “OMG” look while sucking in your saliva between your teeth sound: “tshhhhhh!”

my ER neighbor was pure entertainment, she helped pass the time by hollerin at all the fly paramedics.

i get admitted around 530 am. john is still with me but no more visiting hours so he has to go home. i spend what’s left of that night trying to sleep, but am constantly hassled by needles. i get hooked up to an IV and antibiotics etc etc… i;m on morphine so i dont remember much.

the next morning i’m introduced to my nurse, “N” – i immediately fall in love with him because he was so much nicer than all the rest and i felt he really cared. not to mention he was gay, had great hair, and was very very witty.

thanks so much to my boyfriend, PAPA, angela, nam, suzette, emma, joey pep, ate ags, tita baby, hanna, chico, chris, and of course stash for visiting me and to all of you, ESPECIALLY MY FAMILY – ma, ate, joey, titas (tita tin, baba, rose, berd), titos, cousins, grandma – THE WHOLE CLAN – for checking up on me via txt, email, fb, twitter – LOVED IT! thanks to my boss for answering my frantic phone call and the rest of the ROKKAN family for picking up where i left off at work you guys are AWESOME! -> THANK YOU GOD FOR LETTING ME LIVE

a few more days, i’m also introduced to my other nurse “D” who happens to remind me a lot of carl from dqm… straight up. he made me feel at home too… although i was far from it.

the team of doctors that i had to see: surgical, plastic surgery, ear nose throat, orthopedics, and optomology – thank you allll for helping me get better.

it sucked looking into a mirror at first, but after john and my papa started doing the facial scrubs (yes, ouch) my face has slowly come back to normal… other than a few lacerations, bruises and road rashes – and of course my cast.

i’m healing rather quickly (bc i have to scrub my face 2x’s a day gaaaah) and i hope to rejoin everyone again soon.
