“IT” = Sex and The City!
WHY did it take me soooooo long to do? (Ah yes, I remember, SOMEONE kept changing my netflix queue!) I absolutely adored the movie, so honest and so real in the world of those in the fashion industry as well as those trying to “find love” in NY. GAH!
Those 4 friends reminded me of my cousin and her 3 friends. All growing up together right here in Brooklyn, all VERY trendy in their own ways, and all, after more than 10 years, still as tight as ever as though neither (errr some) of them had kids, or husbands, or heartbreaks… Now THAT’s the kind of friendship I wish I had growing up.
Not only was I touched by the friendship and love portrayed in the movie, but I was sure as hell stunned at all the trends and fashion! (duh). Being that the I am/was the tomboy that I am/was, I always thought high end fashion was more of a stupid girl thing, why would I EVER EVER want to pay more than 100 dollars on shoes/purse/dress/hat/shoes that I won’t be able to “wear” everyday because its more of an article of clothing than an accessory?!?! However, the longer I live here in NY and the more I mature, my sneaker and tee collection just doesn’t quite suit me the same as say 2-3 years ago. (Also, I work in Soho, and my office is right next door to a modelling agency, I think, and I see models and fashionistas 24/7).
I’ll forever be surrounded by “streetwear,” but who says I can’t look like a woman at the same time? So, anyway, I totally get it now, and even though I’m a bit late in the game, I can at least say I know quality shit when I see it and now, I WILL pay an arm and a leg for those Milano’s thank you very much!
HAHAHAHAH – ok ok, I thought I’d share this little note with you all =) Hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend!
