1. Give us a little history on yourself and what you do today.
My name is Chris Hull and I work in the communications department at Alpinestars. I suppose I’ve always had a passion for racing and motorsports, but it took some time to integrate it into a career. I worked in publishing for a while as cofounder of Vapors Magazine and in fashion as marketing director of Freshjive Mfg. before arriving at Alpinestars in 2009. Over the years, I’ve also contributed to INTERSECTION magazine and a couple other print and online publications. Fortunately here at Alpinestars I get to implement everything that I’ve learned in the past ten years and apply it to Alpinestars’ legacy and product. I oversee the Apex Initiative project, which is very exciting. The whole concept of Apex Initiative involves connecting motorsports, lifestyle and design so it’s pretty much a dream job for me.

2. You’ve been exposed to a lot of designers and brands in your past. What ideologies have you seen and brought onto your every day life?
I think absorbing information and experiences is essential to good designers and brands, but will also greatly improve your quality of life. I see that in a lot of my peers that are successful designers, artists or run successful brands and I think they’re personally happier because of it, so I try to keep that in mind from day to day.

3. 2 Wheel or 4 Wheel?
Definitely both. And even though the latest and most interesting acquisition is of the 2 wheeled variety, I’d say I’m slightly (very slightly) more fond of the 4 wheeled.

4. Favorite Racer and Why?
Can I say Paul Newman? From his legacy in film to his talents behind the wheel and on the pit box, I’d have to say that he did it pretty good. His generous philanthropy is certainly inspirational too. I’m a big fan and advocate of club racing and the weekend warriors and he really embraced that. I think a lot of people could identify with his passion as a racer. Not to discredit any of the greats, Senna, Schumacher, Lauda, Roberts, Rossi, Rainey, on and on and on I’m inspired by them all and they may be favorites for different reasons, but as far as the whole package Gotta go with Newman. He was heavy.

5. Everyone has a collection or is planning on starting a collection. What do you collect?
Books, hand grenades, paddock passes, tactical gear, flashlights, Mercedes DTM models. Oh and Boston Terriers. As far as planned collections: Helmets.

6. What’s with the beard?
You mean the stache? It’s the source of my powers. It’s my Adamantium, my Unibeam. With great mustache comes great responsibility. Naw Mean.

7. Finish this sentence… In a perfect world, I Would be miserable. Perfection Shmerfection. Imperfections are what keep things exciting. Nothing is perfect, everything can be improved.

8. Steak or Seafood?
Neither I’ve been a pretty strict Vegan for over 6 years now. Anyone that knows me knows how important my strict Vegan diet is to me. If there was one thing that is more important to me than my strict Vegan diet, it’s sarcasm. Sarcasm and a strict Vegan diet are my meat and potatoes.

9. Life is full of surprises, highs and lows. If you can give a piece of advice to the motivated youth reading this, what would that be?
Always look for inspiration, everywhere but don’t bite.
