Sneak Peak into Mr. Brainwash Art Show 2011, meeting with Thierry

Today I had one of those “at the right place at the right time moments”.  I was driving down Labrea to see how long the line was for the awaited MBW show.   The show officially opens on Christmas day, but 300 people will be allowed on the 22nd at 7 pm to preview Art Show 2011.  I have been texting with my girl Lara about wanting to hire a PA to wait in line for me like I did for the Banksy Tesco bomb poster in Bristol last summer.  Lara first thought I was kidding but she is still getting to know me.…  There was no line, but an open door.

As my blog mentor once told me – you first have to be in the know, then you have to have access, and even then it really doesn’t matter unless you have a blog.  So here I am with all 3 in alignment.

I embraced the opportunity (as I am an opportunist) and confidently walked in over to Thierry who was rearranging things himself  -  he was up for a picture and some small talk.

Is this Mr. Potatohead and Thierry impersonating Mona Lisa?

Colonel Sanders karma.

Ben Franklin I see your gut.

Poseidon’s paint adventure.

I was told these are some Brainwash original go to’s.

Phil Hartman?

Still wondering if I was going to be able to pull this off  - I left the main room and took a right to the outside exhibit.  I didn’t see the art.

I don’t know what to say about this except it’s made out of tires.

I started heading up each of the 4 floors.  It looks like there is a lot of last minute work to be done just like the Life is Beautiful show.  Thierry just doesn’t have a broken leg this time.

Floor plan 2

Someone I met in the stairwell.  I asked him how do you maintain that hair?  He replied that it was his first time showing this look.  He did it for a show.  Anybody recognize him?

A pretty descent shot for an iphone 4.

Pretty in Pink

Each of the hallway’s were painted.

Now I see why I was getting away with all I did.  Security was laxing.

I think this says something good?

I tawt I saw a puddy cat.

Thierry’s eye’s weren’t this red YET.

I can’t believe I messed up this opportunity.  I wasn’t recording when I thought I was!!!  If you love me – I could really use a good camera.  You can view the real interview on the Huffington Post this week.

I started to get a little more comfortable.

Definitely one of my all time favorite things.

Another favorite pastime.

I like this one – so I wanted to show it again.

Please don’t be offended.

I think this is happening to me.

Wall Street Art

Apparently there was a Banksy on the side of the a newspaper box.  I looked all over this room for it as there were several containers – but I could not find it.

I won’t.

Channeling John and Yoko.

Expensive film.

Yes, you are!

Half of life is showing up, now see me on Instagram
