Check out these photos sent to me from the homie Yuya Yasunari, owner of Garage K&K in Japan, shot for the Japanese automotive Customcar Magazine. In the past few years, I’ve noticed more and more Japanese tuners picking up on the USDM styling. Similar to the love for JDM styling here in the United States, the USDM style of tuning is slowly gaining more and more attention overseas. Hard to believe? Check out the USDM Jam events in Japan. Also, peep the authentic California license plate!
Exterior:
Porsche Slate Gray Metallic paint
CDM EL front end conversion
CDM EL 99-00 grill
CTR front lip spoiler
CTR rear under spoiler
USDM CX rear wing
USDM thin side moldings
USDM side mirrors
Green glass conversion
Wheels/Suspension:
Discontinued HRE/Hayashi Racing Equipment 504 3-piece 16×8.5 +8 front, 16×9.5 +22 rear (custom re-barreled and re-drilled)
Pirelli PZero Nero 195/40R16 front, 215/40R16 rear
Buddy Club Racing spec damper kit
…and just to give you an idea of how Yuya rolls.
USDM? Just cause it has a California license plate?
Wouldn’t this be just be called “Oni-kyan” / “Shakotan” / “Hippari Tire”?
Although the Oni-kyan is not ridiculous on this Civic.
Japan were doing this quite some time ago…
Overall a nice clean Civic, stance / fitment is tight and the deep lip on the wheels are decent!
One of the best Civics so far, I have seen.
Were looking at the details here. He swapped a good amount of factory JDM CTR parts for USDM parts. He’s running a Canadian EL front end conversion and S2k seats. The owner is heavily involved in the USDM movement that’s going on in Japan right now.
Yeah right, I see 🙂
I guess the auto fashion / styling is influencing each other, mixing it up a bit for different amount of variety.
Cool!
CDM Acura EL front-end conversionnn?
that guy is not japanese.
Doing pretty much the right thing there. Nice!
NSX front brakes. Gangster.
Good eye Mark! Thought no one would notice. lol
So if JDM is big over here, and USDM is big over there, enthusiasts should just strip their cars to shells and swap parts with someone overseas. Haha
That Civic is simply beautiful, job well done.
This guy is dedicated, he even swapped the steering wheel for an CDM EL Airbag wheel!
CDM=/= USDM.
Just saying.
I have been looking for set of these wheels for ever, now i know where most of them are. Love the set up
bunch of nitpickers on here.
good post, Henry!
mesh wheels make me feel happy in the pants
those rotors look toast…
very clean civic!
although JDM parts are better than USDM (imho) it’s all about getting hard-to-find pieces, especially over-seas.
if the Japanese are into USDM, and the US is into JDM…maybe start a network for trading parts? haha
Where not always happy of what we have.
