Back in 2009 I discovered the Fatlace blog and I remember being drawn to its grass roots automotive content. I remember when my friends and I would crowd around a computer to check out the latest Hellaflush article like young boys opening up their dad’s nudie mag for the first time. Every new article featured a car that was lower with more poke, more stretch, and more engine bling. It could be that I’m an old fart, but I just don’t get the same feeling as I used when I visit other blogs today.
My long time friend Brandon Lee came by The Paddock yesterday to get laced up with some Fatlace vinyl for the upcoming Bash to the Future 4 drift event. Brandon’s car may not be the prettiest but it’s built the way he wanted it to be, regardless of what others said. His 2JZ, 550WHP, S14 was purposefully built to eat up the asphalt.
With great power comes much needed grip. It was only natural for Brandon to pick out one the best grippy tires on the market. These Toyo R888’s have more meat than your mama’s BBQ ribs!
With all biases aside, I feel like Brandon has a lot of love, passion, and fun while drifting and that’s why I chose him to represent the brand at Bash to the Future 4. He embodies the grass roots vibes and I can’t think of anyone in my network of friends who has consistently gone to the track, drifted, thrashed their car, and still leave smiling.
We know how much a little bit goes a long way and that’s why we thought that pairing you up with the homies at Toyo Tires was a match made in heaven. We hope that your new R888 give you all the grip you need! On behalf of the Fatlace team, we wish you all the luck and we know you’ll tear it up.

Brandon is a thug! I miss nudie mags also..
He’s the dorkiest thug I know
Lorenze – “The rear is too ugly for a pic.”
Me – “Why, because it’s too high?”
Lorenze – “Well… yeah, look at it!”
It looks like a girl with a flat booty wearing high-waisted jeans
