Kaws is a product of from the evolution of graffiti that started in the 80’s. Although he’s become highly commercial, his roots are pure in a sense he’s paid his dues as a street artist. Unlike MANY MANY wack artist that have their 2 months of “killing it” in the streets that strive for gallery space.

Some people that hate on him will never understand but also growing up in the 90’s and very much into the graff scene, kaws definitely hit up the spots that had the most visibility. He was the Barry McGee of NYC.
