The final event at Archerfield for 2012 was always going to be a massive event. With multiple Australian Drift Champion, JDM All Stars Champion and former World BMX Champion Luke Fink at the helm, he’s been to one or two events in his time and had a plan to bring his vision of the ideal drift event to life. With the assistance of long standing local drift supporters Dylan and Jeff Anderson and the team from NizzPro, they brought together major sponsor Kyoto Garage as well as Cartel Australia and Costal Performance to create the biggest drift event Archerfield has ever seen.
It wasn’t just local business support they brought together, they also enlisted a field of drivers from across Australia and even had D1NZ driver Darren Benjamin make the trip over to compete in the NizzPro ute.
The result was a massive day of drift, a packed crowd and some spectacular action on track. It was the perfect way to end a massive year of drifting, it was a relaxed event and it was great to catch up with so many drivers and media that came out to support the event.
Kelly Wong and the Sleeka Spares team made the journey all the way from South Australia for the day.
The car show proir to the main event allowed spectators to check out the competition cars up close.
Some pretty impressive cars rolled up for the show, including this matte black FD RX-7.
Steve Pembrey was one of the southerners that made the trip north and he put on a great show in his V6 powered 86.
The 3FN / Blaze Unit crew also came up from down south and spent the day doing what they do best!
The new up and back layout made for some great battles around the hairpin.
Kris Frome has really got the feel for his new LS powered R34 and was absolutely blazing the circuit.
Dan Rasell had rapidly rebuilt his SR20 before the event and it was great to see him back on track.
Nick Coulson was fresh from his ADGP season and showed the crowd what Aussie drift is all about.
It was a great event and a credit to the organisers, looking forward to their next massive event at Archerfield Drift!
