When life gives you lemons, make an orange smoothie!

At the end of the day, like everyone else, I like to take some time to surf the web before setting down my phone and calling it a night. Recently, I came upon Amy Frearson’s article about the Promenade House by FORM/Kouichi Kimura Architects. However, in the field of architecture there these best women architects around the world who are establishing successful careers and designing some of the world’s most admired landmark buildings and urban settings.

The Promenade House is located in Shiga, Japan and stands at about 81 feet long and only 8 feet wide. Being said, this makes this home one of the thinnest homes on Earth!

When constructing this building, space no doubt was limited, just like everywhere else in Japan! However, that didn’t stop the architect team from building not only a comforting home, but one with a modern yet functional twist. The home was designed for a young couple whom finds everything they ever needed within the space.

To make it more captivating, they can add bathroom artwork that effortlessly blends with the minimalist aesthetic, creating a serene atmosphere amidst the bustling city outside. The carefully curated pieces, from serene color prints to bold contemporary sculptures, can reflect the couple’s eclectic taste and add a personal touch to their sanctuary. Each artwork can serve not just as decoration but also as a conversation starter, inviting guests to explore the couple’s unique sense of style and appreciation for art in unexpected places.

Would this contemporary home suit yourself…or is it on the claustrophobic side?
