If you’ve followed my blog (I haven’t posted in a looooooong time) or the Tastemakers blog (we haven’t posted in a looooooong time), you are likely familiar with Antonio Brasko. To bring you up to speed – his work was on display at The Seventh Letter last year in LA, I checked it out and I loved it, social media connected us, I took a trip to the Pac Northwest (he resides in Portland), we met up, we dialogued, I featured him/his work/his space here on Fatlace, and now we’re doing a show together. Got all that?
This Friday, February 27, at illest LA, we open “BRANDALISM” which will stay on view for a month. The exhibit is the sum of oversized prints and spraypaint cans, all meant as a creative experiment on the parallels between vandalism and corporate branding. The idea is to mesh the fashion, graffiti, street, and art cultures together in a new way.
This is your invitation. Come see how illest transforms into a modular art space. Come meet Antonio who will be signing illest x BRASKO spraycan posters. Come grab the limited edition teee. Come take Polaroid selfies and have Antonio tag on it with a Sharpie. Come drink free Pabst Blue Ribbon. Come hear DJ MikeRawk. And come see my efforts as I continue to evolve as a Curator for illest.
