Supercar Saturdays came to fruition when a group of Chicago car enthusiasts, jealous of California morning car meets, decided to create an event of our own. We’d like to consider ourselves to be original; but the concept is the same: set up an event to bring car enthusiasts of all types together in one place to meet, share stories, and make new friends.
Anyone and everyone is welcome if you share this vision. The goal is to make this a diverse event with everything from classics and muscle cars to exotics and modified contemporary cars. I’m happy to be one of the designated shooters for these events. Warning: MIGHT be some wheel gap on some of these cars, but screw it.
As kids (some even now), we all had a car that we regarded as the epitomey of vehicles. For me, it was the Diablo.
And sweet cheeses crust this Diablo SE looks hot in this color.
Speaking of cars we all had on our walls….
The Euro guys always have a solid showing. I’m always a sucker for BBS wheels.
My buddy Ron is just about always present at these events in his Twin Turbo 350z. I LOVE his stance, and his JLine wheels.
Such a tastefully done Z33.
Never a shortage of exotics as proven by this Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce.
This 1958 Pontiac Bonneville was a newcomer to the show, and I was rather excited to see it.
While we’re talking about Domestics…how can you NOT mention this beautiful Shelby.
This R35 is owned by Ron Durchin @ Autowerks in Northbrook, one of the events sponsors and founders. Pictures don’t do it justice, but it has a custom matte white paint job with Volk GT30s to match. Diggin the purple lip! But knowing Ron, it will probably be a different color by tomorrow.
599 GTO…mmmmmm MMMMMMM!!!
I WISH I had more info on this bike other than it’s got a 911 GT3 theme going on. So rad.
Beautiful F355 Berlinetta, a Ferrari I had never seen in person until now.
Being a huge Nissan Z/Datsun enthusiast, I couldn’t pass up this simply stunning example of a 1600 Roadster. It’s monster trucking, but who the hell cares, these cars are timelessly beautiful.
That bike is amazing!
Great Pic’s Brad! I need to go to a SS soon!
The bike is a Vrod… the motor was built by Porsche. So the GT3 theme is actually pretty cool. Also the countach brings back a load of good memories when I was a kid. I thought that car was the baddest thing ever!
Thanks for the info! That definitely does make it even cooler. I think anyone who was born in the 80’s and earlier can relate to the countach. It’s such an iconic car.
That purple Diablo is not a common one…is a Diablo SE 30 th Anniversary with specific wheels and body parts and engine upgrades…it’s a pretty rare piece of metal if you ask around!
Great write up Brad…The wheels will be changed by next months event.
