Last year (2013) during H2Oi I had planned to do a couple of shoots with a DIY light paint rig I made and one of those was Danny’s mesmerizing STI. Unfortunately, I ran into some car trouble and I couldn’t finish up his shoot – or do any other shoots for that matter because I had to bring the car back to the shop. The S5’s clutch master cylinder broke (again) and I had the car towed back home – thanks again AJ!.

I did get two nice shots of Danny’s car when we first met up over the weekend – The car looked amazing!
For those interested in how the light works, it is basically a long exposure and you move you ass around the car holding the light bar and “painting” the car for a couple of seconds. The results speak for themselves!

My friend Pedro Vilar, owner of Vilar Autobody – the shop that made this beast look how it stands today – hit me up about wrapping up the shoot for Danny. Since things have been busy at work, I couldn’t make it up to New Jersey to shoot the STI, so Pedro volunteered for the job. Thanks Pedro, you did a great job!

The STI went through a very aggressive transformation from stock. Danny decided to go wild and add a Varis wide body kit, spoiler, a rear diffuser and a unique roof vent. He also dumped it on air – including AirLift bags and Accuair management.

The car didn’t fall short in fitment either, Danny went with a fat square set up of 19″x12″ Forgeline GA3’s.

I can’t wait to do more shoots this year, and definitely take advantage of my light painting rig more often and bring you the best coverage I can from the East Coast of the U.S.
