This is gonna be a different kind of post. I took the photos but the words are by Kenny. Enjoy!
1983 Toyota Cressida
I have been into classic toyota’s before i started driving. Owned a few ae86’s, fx16, 1983 corolla. Was previously into drifting but got deeply obsessed with Kaido Racer style.
After traveling to Japan year after year, my obsession and knowledge grew deeper. It took me a few months to finally find this 83′ cressida in southern california. low mileage, factory digital cluster and 2 tone paint.
My main goal with this Cressida was to keep the USDM body style while going with a low and wide Japanese look, staying simple.
My reason for going USDM body style, i thought if i went JDM bumper and lights, it would look like any other 61-chasis in Japan.
The car is still an on going project but my main hurdle was to widen the rear guards that was done at home with sheet metal and mold.
They have been widened significantly to fit my 14x9j -9 and 14×10.5j -29 SSR MKIIIs. These wheels were originally 14×6’s that i brought over from Japan that have been re-barreled.
The front chin spoiler was also brought over from Japan. I have also mounted GX61 mirrors from New Zealand.
