Slammed Society once again came back up to the the Pacific Northwest this past weekend along with Formula Drift’s Round 5: Throwdown. We were welcomed on Saturday with a slight breeze and sunny skies, perfect for a day of awesome cars and tire smoke. Like most our events, the line up of cars was quite diverse. Everything ranging from good old American muscle to fitted E30s with motor swaps to bagged Subarus. We had 4 categories: Slammed, VIP, Time Attack, and Drift with a 1st place and 2nd place winner. Before we show you the winners, lets take a look and some of the other awesome rides in the show.
Since Mr. Wilkerson’s bagged STi was staged in front of our booth all day, I really had a chance to overhear reactions of the debut of his car. It seemed like it was a love/hate issue. Folks would say its ridiculous to bag a Subaru with its rally inspired history. Others would comment on how perfectly the wheels fit and how great it looks. I personally think its thinking outside of the box. Good stuff Abbitt.
I took these photos of these 3 amazing E30s exclusively for our fellow HF blogger Josh “Grippy” Hooks. Please clean up after yourself when you’re done.
They sure do love their Subarus in the Northwest…
The Lower Class Men were some of the first people in line to get into the show. Its always good seeing these guys.
I must say that this is the first time I have seen someone bring their monitor lizard to a drift event/car show.
Even with the number of winners doubled, however, it was still extremely difficult waddling down the final choices. In Classic/Muscle, the winner was a 510 wagon with the runners up going to a Dodge Challenger. In Time Attack, the winner was a Honda EG6 with the runners up going to a 350Z. In Drifting, the winner was a crazy Mazda FC vert with the runners up going to a super clean S14. In VIP, the winner was an Audi A8 with the runners up going to a Mercedes Benz S500. And last but not least, the Slammed winner was a static Civic EK Coupe with runners up going to an army green S2000.
At the end of the day, the Northwest just knows how to build awesome cars, period. We want to thank everyone for coming out to our showcase and making this event possible. We look forward to seeing you guys again soon!
