Sadly, the Tsukiji Market is in its last year. It’s being relocated to a slightly more inconvenient location in Toyosu. This means a few things, the area around Tsukiji hopefully can survive and almost every publication that has printed about the market will need to reprint. Yikes!

So we arrived pretty late. Woke up with intentions of leaving at 4am but actually left at 445, got to the market and pretty much missed all the large tuna auction. We were able to sneak in and walk around a bit to capture some of the preparations that goes on daily. Enjoy

We stayed in Roppongi which made getting there a breeze. Its only about a 8 minute taxi ride to Tsukiji.

They were about 2 times the size the last time I went to the market here. Still a decent size though.
