Its tough to write about someone who just passed away but it was such an honor meeting Marco Simoncelli this year. In just his 2nd year at MotoGP, he had so many opportunities to win this year, his battles were awesome and had his best outing at the last race in Australia placing 2nd.
Hunter and I went to Laguna Seca this year and met him in the hospitality. Super nice guy and even posed with hunter while heading back. Hunter of course was pumped to talk to anyone who makes eye contact with him. He also hung out with his family who was tanning while waiting for the race to start saying Hi to them every 10 seconds as he walked farther away from them.
Its with deepest sorrow to know that he lost his life today after an accident on the Sepang Race Track. Rest in peace Marco, you will be missed dearly and will always be a champion in our hearts.
